While at Sosalla Solew, your safety is our upmost concern. In order to keep the hunt safe and enjoyable, we have a few rules that everyone is required to follow. Our guides are professionally trained and are able to handle any situations that can arise during a hunt. It is crucial that you follow the guide's instructions at all times. If a hunter is uncooperative, the guide can call off the hunt. Wearing appropriate gear while in the field is one way we prevent accidents. All hunters are required to wear a blaze orange cap at all times along with either an orange shooting shirt or vest. We also recommend eye and ear protection. If you need assistance, please feel free to ask questions. While at Sosalla Solew, we allow only over-under or double barrel shotguns. For extended safety, we normally allow just 2 hunters on the ground at a time. Hunters should stay in line with each-other and slightly ahead of the guide when approaching a point. Our guide will instruct you on how and where to stand. We also ask that you please pick up spent shells after your shot. Hunters not currently in the field will remain on the wagon, where one of our guides will follow the hunters providing great views. Please do not get off the buggy. If you need to grab something, let the guide know you are moving outside the wagon. To prevent a hazardous situation, never bring a loaded gun into the buggy. Unload your gun on the ground before placing your gun in one of our designated gun racks. Remember to make sure that your safety is on before loading your gun. Also, always load your gun facing away from other hunters, the wagon, or dogs. Please carry your gun broken over your shoulder until approaching a covey of birds. Then you should hold your gun out in front of you facing upwards. Please be mindful of your fellow hunters, the wagon, the dogs, and your surroundings while in the field. Never take a low shot. There will always be more birds. Alcohol is also strictly prohibited before or during the hunt. If a hunter is caught drinking alcohol, they will immediately be asked to leave the property. If everyone can follow these simple rules, we are sure to have a fun and safe hunt for everyone.
